Tazewell County Recent Arrests
Start with the sheriff's Custody Lookup, the official roster of people in county custody. It is a live table, not a fixed archive. Tazewell County publishes no separate new-bookings dashboard, daily PDF, or weekly blotter. Rows can linger when someone stays in custody or holds another status. The page lists no refresh time and no removal rule.
Pick the window that matches your question. 24 Hour Arrests handles same-day checks and intake lag. The Arrest Log covers multi-day searches. It draws on custody data, incident releases, agency records, and labeled archives. Neither one turns a single roster view into a complete arrest count.
| View | Scope | Photo |
|---|---|---|
| Same day | No official filtered feed; use current custody and agency checks | No roster image |
| Multi-day | No official date-range blotter; combine official sources | Varies |
| Roster | Current public custody data | None displayed |
Search Tazewell Arrest Roster
The official table has no name-search form. Open it and run your browser's Find command on a surname. Then compare the whole row, not just the name. DetaineeID, BookDate, BookTime, age, agency, and charge all matter. Similar names are not enough. The agency field may show Pekin, East Peoria, or Morton Police, the sheriff, state police, or a hold source, yet it cannot always prove where the arrest happened or where custody ended. The official custody table displays the roster's structure.
Note: The table shows no mugshot, bond, court date, release time, or update stamp.
| Field | Meaning and limit |
|---|---|
| BookDate / BookTime | Jail booking values, not necessarily arrest time |
| DetaineeID | Roster identifier, not a court case number |
| Name and demographics | Agency-entered fields requiring verification |
| Charge | Custody charge, not final judgment |
| Agency | Source lead, not proof of location or prosecution |
- Note when the table was checked.
- Find the surname and inspect all matches.
- Record the full row and DetaineeID.
- Call the jail at (309) 477-2250 or verify the alternate (309) 477-2253 line if urgent.
- Check the named agency and court case.
When Tazewell Arrest Records Appear
5 ILCS 140/2.15(a) sets a clock. It gives agencies 72 hours after an arrest to furnish covered information. That rule governs access, not web posting. Tazewell offers no same-day filter, timestamp, weekend schedule, or measured intake lag. Someone can be processed and released before a row ever appears. Others are handled by police or transferred elsewhere. If no entry shows, ask the agency and the Justice Center directly. Give a name, date, and arresting department. A blank roster is not proof that no arrest occurred.
The law's disclosure categories run wider than the web table. They can include identifying details and a photograph when one exists. Charges qualify too. So do the time and place of arrest, the arresting agency, and custody receipt, discharge, or transfer dates. A focused request can target those fields the roster leaves out. The agency may still claim a lawful exemption or redact material. Ask for the basis of anything withheld. Keep the response along with the date you checked the roster.
Tazewell Sheriff App and Alerts
The official Tazewell Co Sheriff app offers another route in. The county yearbook lists inmate search and active warrants. It also covers tips, news, social links, events, and push notices. Booking photos are not mentioned. Treat the app as a convenience, not a separate database or emergency service. For a specific image, request it from the government custodian. For one person's custody notices, use the separate VINELink Check. Then confirm results with the jail.
Where Tazewell Arrests Are Published
Official sources come first, and each answers a different question. The sheriff roster covers public custody. The sheriff's press releases cover selected incidents. The Tyler portal covers case events and outcomes. News stories from 25 News Now and WCBU add context but are not rosters. A release may spotlight one investigation while skipping routine bookings. A court result can also exist after a person leaves the jail table. Read the source label before concluding anything.
Unofficial pages follow. RecentlyBooked claims a rolling 30-day view and reports no Tazewell photos available. Busted Newspaper has republished county listings. Mugshots.com is historical. These copies can lag or keep a record long after release. No stable Tazewell Arrests.org landing page or county-local Mugshots.zone section exists.
Third-party pages sometimes show more fields than the sheriff table. These can include bond amounts, city labels, or photos on some entries. Extra fields do not make a copy more authoritative. Confirm identity through DetaineeID and agency data, then check the Tyler case for amended charges. Local news runs on its own incident-driven schedule. An article may run days after the arrest, and its image often comes from an agency rather than any public county gallery.
Recent Arrests by City
Pekin Recent Arrests covers Pekin Police bookings. County custody appears there too. East Peoria Recent Arrests works differently, and it separates city records from the sheriff's roster. Morton Recent Arrests explains Morton Police records hours and county checks. None of the three cities publishes a complete current blotter. A city agency label can appear once the Justice Center accepts a person. Not every arrest reaches that table. Municipal release, transfer, or state and federal custody can change the path entirely.
Pekin Activity Totals Versus Bookings
Pekin's FY2025 annual report lists 37,069 calls and 1,944 criminal arrests. Neither number equals today's county booking total. Some Pekin arrests never reach the jail. The roster also lists other agencies, warrants, and holds. Before stacking any advertised count against the roster, check the period it covers. Also check its definition and whether released records stay included.
Tazewell County Booking Record Fields
A booking record is a chain of custody events, not a full criminal history. Illinois law spells out more than the roster shows. Look for arrest time and place, plus the arresting agency. An address and photograph may appear when they exist. Dates of custody receipt, discharge, or transfer matter too. Those pieces often sit in three places. The arrest report is one, and so are the jail file and the court case.
| Information | Best source |
|---|---|
| Booking fields | Sheriff roster |
| Arrest narrative and location | Arresting agency |
| Booking photo, if releasable | FOIA request to custodian |
| Bond, hearings, disposition | Tyler portal or Circuit Clerk |
| Discharge or transfer | Jail custody-event request |
Tazewell Mugshots and Booking Photos
The public sheriff table displays no booking photo. That alone says little about what was taken or what will be released. Ask for the image through FOIA, citing the person, date, agency, and DetaineeID. Availability, exemptions, safety concerns, juvenile rules, and court orders can all shape the answer.
State law also plays a part. 5 ILCS 140/2.15(e) restricts how police post booking photos on social networks for certain lower-level matters, with listed exceptions, and it does not force a roster to display an image. IDOC tracks current state incarceration and parole. An image from state custody is not automatically the Tazewell booking photo.
Request Tazewell Arrest Records
Sheriff requests moved to GovQuest on September 5, 2026. Categories cover reports, video, and jail matters, with confirmation and tracking built in. Existing requests transferred. The sheriff asks users not to file duplicates. Mail or personal delivery still works at 101 S Capitol Street, Pekin, IL 61554.
The official GovQuest portal is the starting screen for these requests.
Its category menu routes a narrow request to the right office.
- Identify whether police, sheriff, or clerk holds the record.
- Give name, date, agency, and DetaineeID.
- Name the report, custody event, or photo wanted.
- Request electronic delivery and a fee estimate.
- Keep the confirmation and any denial citation.
The sheriff allows five business days for noncommercial requests. A five-day extension is possible. Electronic copies are free, paper runs $0.10 per page, USB media costs $5, and a city police report plus a county booking file may take two separate requests.
Bond and Tazewell Custody Status
Bond processing at the Justice Center runs around the clock. A $35 jail bonding fee applies per case. A $75 failure-to-appear fee can apply when specified, and Court Money adds an 8% card-processing charge. Paying does not clear the roster instantly. Confirm release with the jail. A missing row proves neither release nor dismissal.
Court Money needs the detained person's name and number plus Justice Center facility code IL1296. Its receipt goes to the jail to finish the local process, yet it does not fix when someone physically leaves custody. A detainer is another agency's legal hold. It can also delay release. Ask the jail about the custody event and the clerk about the controlling order. Skip any unofficial bond value, since the official roster itself shows no bond column.
Tazewell Weekender Custody Rules
Tazewell's weekender rules show why a roster row can mean court-ordered custody. The row may not reflect a fresh arrest. Weekenders report with a court order and medical card. Intoxicated people are refused. Medicines must stay in original bottles, and visitors and phones are barred. The published fee is $60 effective June 1, 2025. Older BookDate rows can likewise mark someone still serving time or held for another reason.
Illinois Booking Records and Law
Illinois lets agencies withhold arrest time, place, or custody details when release would interfere with proceedings, endanger someone, or compromise jail security. Juvenile information stays protected. 705 ILCS 405/5-915 adds separate juvenile expungement rules. Never copy protected data from a stale unofficial result.
Tazewell publishes no schedule for how long booking photos, sheets, or rosters are kept. Under the Local Records Act, disposal must follow an approved process. A page vanishing from the web is not record destruction. Ask for the record series, the schedule, and the disposition authority.
Correcting a Tazewell Arrest Listing
Start corrections with the agency that made the arrest. Send any signed sealing or expungement order to that agency and each republisher. 20 ILCS 2630/5.2 sets adult eligibility, and the Illinois Courts forms page supplies filing materials. An aggregator cannot grant expungement.
Never pay an unknown removal operator. 815 ILCS 505/2QQQ bans covered payment-based removal practices. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, and Mugshots.com publish free documentation-based policies. The unofficial Mugshots.com record-maintenance page spells out its no-fee route. It helps only after the official source is corrected.
That policy is not a court order. No outcome is guaranteed, so after the source changes, ask search engines to refresh stale results.
Tazewell Arrest Warrants and Wanted
The sheriff's warrant table is the county's wanted list. No separate Most Wanted page exists. The official warrant interface lists WarrantID, name, demographics, warrant type, charge, and the amount to post, but no update stamp or photo gallery appears.
A warrant row does not equal current custody. Warrants change, so confirm with the sheriff or the clerk. Anyone named on the list should contact counsel or the court. No one should approach a wanted person. Tips can go to Greater Peoria Area Crime Stoppers at (309) 673-9000 through its anonymous code process.
Verify Tazewell Court Outcomes
Tazewell no longer uses Judici. The county now points users to the Tyler portal. The county courts page documents the switch, and the Circuit Clerk at 342 Court Street, Pekin, takes calls at (309) 477-2214; use the case number where possible.
A Tazewell arrest entry on a roster shows only the booking moment. Court files carry the case forward through amendment, dismissal, plea, trial, or sentencing, and give the disposition the roster never supplies.
Custody Beyond Tazewell County
Not every arrested person stays in Tazewell County. For Illinois prison or parole, use IDOC. The BOP locator covers federal custody, and the ICE locator covers qualifying immigration detention. BOP refreshes daily. It offers no public photo gallery, and U.S. Marshals guidance restricts general photo release. A past federal housing agreement with the Justice Center says nothing about a current hold.
Archived Tazewell Arrest Records
Start with the right custodian. Recent missing material belongs to the sheriff or the arresting police department. Tyler holds dispositions. Older Tazewell County records follow a different route. The Illinois State Archives holdings search and the Tazewell IRAD route can help. They never transferred modern booking photos or roster data. A retention request should name the record series and ask whether it sits in jail, police, court, electronic, or off-site storage. Newspapers keep selected reports, not the official file. No single source is a lifetime arrest archive.
The State Archives database filters by county. It lists historical categories like court dockets, county case files, coroner material, and clerk records. The Tazewell IRAD contact sits at Illinois State University in Normal. These tools can pinpoint an old record series. They are not a recent-booking search. The County Clerk and Recorder and the Circuit Clerk remain separate local custodians. Before ordering a copy, ask the archive to confirm both record title and date span.
Custody state organizes everything. The sheriff table tells you whether an item appears in current county custody data. A police report documents the arresting agency's work. A court file can run for months or years after release. IDOC handles state incarceration or parole; BOP and ICE cover distinct federal systems. An old newspaper or aggregator preserves a publication, not present status. Matching the question to the custodian prevents a common error. One old arrest page is not proof of current confinement or a conviction.
When an item cannot be found, ask the agency a direct question. Did it never create the record, transfer it, lawfully dispose of it, or withhold it? Request the applicable retention schedule. Removal from a public screen does not mean destruction. For photographs, distinguish the county booking image from a later IDOC photograph. Different custodians made them for different custody events. Each follows its own access and retention rules.
